Dirty Monitor and the theatre "L’Ancre" have collaborated once again, this time on the occasion of the project “Les Villes Tentaculaires”, a modern reinterpretation of the collection of poems written by Emile Verhaeren at the end of the 19th Century saying all the horror and the beauty of the city - this sprawling hydra that eats the country but also feeds his man.
This bold and contemporary show suprises and seduces proposing again this work in the form of a live performance mixing our video mapping endowed with a strong conceptual print and a theatrical performance, the whole on electronic music completed with a string quartet.
We decided to work the digital scenic design created with our black and white projections with a particular graphic treatment inspired by the movies of Charlie Chaplin anf Metropolis.
We are honoured to have been awarded for this show with the title of "Best Artistic and Technical Creation" at the Critics Award 2014 , the most prestigious ceremony in the theater field in Belgium.
